Hydraulics, made and traded
on ERPNext built around them

Hydronex Systems manufactures, trades and exports hydraulic fittings, hoses and fluid power components from Ahmedabad. Standard ERPNext did not fit the way they work, so Exalix Tech customised it to their requirements.

About the Client

A hydraulics business that
makes, trades and exports

Hydronex Systems is an Ahmedabad, Gujarat company that manufactures, distributes and exports hydraulic fittings, adapters, industrial hoses and fluid power components to SAE international standards. It also takes on OEM and private-label manufacturing.

The range goes well beyond fittings: hose pipe, hydraulic adapters, tube fittings, ferrules, quick couplings, pumps, valves, cylinders, pressure gauges, filters, manifold blocks and SS corrugated pipe, among others.

Customers come from construction, agriculture, mining, manufacturing, energy & gas and infrastructure, in India and across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Quality is checked at three points: incoming material inspection, in-process monitoring and final hydrostatic testing with dimensional checks.

The Challenge

A business that does not
fit a standard sale

Much of what Hydronex does, ERPNext already handles. The parts that did not fit were exactly the ones the business depends on most.

Stocked in one unit, sold in another

Material is bought and held in one unit of measure but sold in another, which a standard sale does not reconcile on its own.

Sold as one, built from several

Many products are put together from several stocked parts, yet each goes to the customer as a single item.

A broad product range

Hose, fittings, adapters, ferrules, couplings, valves, pumps, cylinders and more, each in its own sizes and forms.

Three ways to sell

Products are manufactured in-house, traded through distribution and exported, to domestic and international customers.

What We Customised

ERPNext shaped
to how they actually work

Exalix Tech customised ERPNext to Hydronex's requirements, so the invoice shows what the customer bought and stock shows what actually left the store.

Requirements first

Mapped how material is bought, stocked, built and sold before deciding what to customise.

Custom unit conversions

Conversions between the unit material is stocked in and the unit it is sold in, applied automatically.

Assembled products

Selling an assembled product takes each of its parts out of stock in the right quantity.

One clean invoice

The customer orders and is invoiced for the product they asked for, not a list of its parts.

Client verdict

Custom
ERPNext built around their process

"Our business does not fit a standard ERP. The way we stock material and the way we sell it are not the same, and much of what we sell is put together from several parts.

Exalix Tech took the time to understand how we actually work and customised ERPNext around it. Now the system handles that on its own: the invoice shows what the customer ordered, and stock shows what really left the store."

Questions

Hydraulics ERP FAQs

Yes. ERPNext supports unit conversions between how an item is bought, stocked and sold, and where a business needs more than the standard conversions allow, it can be customised. For Hydronex Systems, Exalix Tech customised ERPNext to their own requirements.
When the way a business works does not match the standard flow, for example when what is sold is not the same as what is taken out of stock. Customising ERPNext for that gap, and only that gap, keeps the rest of the system standard.
Through item variants. One template item carries attributes such as size, thread type or pressure rating, and each combination becomes its own variant with its own stock, price and history, without maintaining hundreds of unrelated items by hand.
Yes. A Quality Inspection can be raised against a purchase receipt, a manufacturing step or a delivery, using a template that lists the parameters to check and their acceptable ranges. The result stays linked to the transaction it was raised on.
Yes. An item can be made in-house against a bill of materials or bought in for resale, and both kinds share the same warehouses, price lists, customers and books of account.
Not when they are built properly. Exalix Tech never edits ERPNext's own code; customisations live in a separate Frappe app, so a version upgrade stays a routine job rather than a rebuild.
